【摘要】:Cleaningofmasonry,concrete,andstuccosurfacesisundertakenforavarietyofreasonsincludingaestheticimprovement,removalofcontaminants,maintenance,andsurfacepreparation.Thisguideprovidesforselecting,testing,andevaluatingcleaningtechniquesforremovalofsoilingandstaining.Cleaningsystemsmayadverselyaffectbothbuildingmaterialsbeingcleanedaswellasothermaterials,mechanical,electrical,andotherbuildingsystems,andbuildingexterior,interior,andsitefeatures.Insomesituations,itmaybeprudenttospotcleanortonotclean.Itshouldbenotedthat,insomecases,cleaningmaybeinconsistentwiththegoalsofhistoricpreservation.1.1Thisguideoutlinesproceduresfortheselectionandassessmentofcleaningtechniquesforremovingsoilingandstainingfrommasonry,concrete,andstuccosurfaces.Removalofpaints,coatings,andgraffitimayrequiremeasuresbeyondthescopeofthisguide.Newconstructionisexcludedfromthescopeofthisguide.1.2Thisguidedoesnotpurporttoaddressthecausesofsoilingorstainingortoproposeremediesforrecurringsoilingorstaining.1.3Whereworkonsurfacesofartistic,architectural,cultural,orhistoricsignificanceisbeingconsidered,guidancefromspecialistsshouldbesought.1.4Thisguidedoesnotpurporttoaddressremovalandreplacementofpriorrepairs,repairofdamagedsurfaces,orotherirregularitiesthatcontributetotheunevenordiscoloredappearanceofmasonry,concrete,andstuccosurfaces.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
