【摘要】:1ThisBritishStandardappliestotheultrasonicinspectionbyanimmersiontechniqueofspecialforgingsusedprimarilyforrotatingparts,e.g.turbinediscs.Itaccordinglydescribesthemethodoftestingbywhichtheacceptabilityofsuchforgingscanbeassessed,andspecifiesflat-bottomedholereferencestandards,apparatusre-quirements,andcontrolandtestprocedures.2Themethod,whichisconfinedtopulseechotech-niquesandtheuseofsinglecrystaltransceiverprobes,islimitedtouseonforgingshavingathicknessofnotlessthantwicethenearsurfaceresolutionoftheprobe(asdeterminedin2.1.4)whichlendthemselves,byvirtueoftheirform,tomechanicalscanninginwhichtheincidentbeamisapproximatelynormaltothesurfaceofthesectionbeingscanned.3Themethodisprimarilyintendedandrecommendedforuseonforgingswhentheseareintherawmaterialstateonly.However,itcanbeusedduringmanufactureonmachinedorpart-machinedcomponents,providedthatthesecomponentscomplywiththeshapeandthicknessdescribedin1.1.2.4Byagreement,thestandardmayalsobeusedfortestsonothertypesofforgingsandwroughtformsmanufac-turedinallmetallicmaterials,inwhichcasedueallowancehastobemadeforthedifferencesinultrasonicattenuationandtransmissionfactorspresentedbyeachmaterial.Factorsaffectingtheapparentflawsizewhenestimatedbycomparisonwiththereferencestandards,andprocedureswhichwillenabledueallowancetobemadeforthemaredescribed.
